Default Red wire coming off of the + battery cable?

Hello all,
What in the hell is this(take a look at the picture)? This red wire comes off of the positive battery cable and is tied into this spot(this spot is right next to the battery. Actually, it is on the core support next to the battery.)...Is that a ground for the battery? Can use this wire? I would like to use it as a "hot wire" to wrap around my coil.

no, not a ground wire............... it is an isolator block, and it has 12 volts all the time, just like the battery, as long as the battery is installed and grounded. Many early cars had a wire hooked to that ran across the front of the car and fed power to the dash and interior. You can use it for anything that needs full 12 volts power (not key "on" 12 volts). The coil wouldn't use 12 volts all the time, but an ignition box would have a 12 volt input, relay(s) for fan, different accessories you may install, etc.

Another red wire goes from that junction block to the horn relay and from the relay into the cars fuse box to power all kinds of stuff.

This red wire could be temporally used to power the coil. Using this red wire is no different than me running another wire from the battery to the coil, right? I could connect a female plug to this wire and start the car, put it on the trailer, and turn the car off. I only need the car to run for 30 seconds.

Yes, that wire is (should be) hot all the time. You'll want to disconnect the coil from that wire as just shutting the car off won't kill the power there.
