Default Shifter location ?

I want to run the factory counsol in my 69 . What 6 speed transmission would you use to give the best chance at the stock location. This may be a dumb question but I have yet to see one done.

I do know the kits for the TKOs from Kiesler have a direct fit set up. I THINK they offer it for the T56 as well. Have you checked the web site?

EDIT: i just checked Keislers site. They offer a direct fit T56 kit rated to 650 hp/650tq and the kit info says it DOES require MINOR trimming of your factory console. It is minor though. Get on the site and go through the "wizard" and request a quote. The kits are very complete and give you pretty much everything you need with some options.
Good luck Mario!

I would also check with American Powertrain to see what they offer, talk to Grey & tell him that Randy at D&Z Customs LLC. sent you.

Mario,

Did you find what you need for the T56 shifter issues?

I have a Keisler in my car and it fits perfectly . Only problem is the 2nd to 3rd gear shift is lousy. The problem is in the shifter. Here is a thread where we discussed it ..
http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=155928
I know other people with the same kit have complained too. I believe Keisler has addressed the issue but I would check to make sure . I installed mine about 4 years ago in a factory 69 Z and it did go in like butter with no modifications at all . Unfortunately the only way to cure the 2nd to 3rd gear shift problem is to take the trans out and have it modified. Not sure the same problem existed with the 6 speed but just thought I would mention it

I would check with Classic Chevy 5 Speeds also... now owned by Hurst .
